This family Corn Merchants business has been run from our offices in Metheringham, Lincolnshire, since 1958.
Arthur Lawrence Cox had been gaining experience with Blankney Estates and had been running a merchanting operation for the Parker family.
In 1958 he set up his own business and since then three sons and two grandsons have carried it on. At present Gerald & Paul Cox are partners with their sons Matthew & Robert.
Matthew is responsible for trading matters and Robert is in charge of logistics. Matthew & Paul are fully qualified in Transport Management and although often out on one of our six artics Paul is able to keep a close eye on all aspects of our operation including vehicle sourcing and maintenence.
Gerald covers matters such as administration, quality control, trading standards, laboratory standards and partnership accounting matters.
Farm visits, sampling and testing are the tasks of Bill Bailey who has years of experience in agriculture and especially in the grain trade.
Accounts and payroll are the responsibility of Mrs Nikki Edwards.
Our laboratory is fully equipped to analyze all combinable crops and we include testing for levels of mycotoxins in grain. We use two national ring test schemes which enables us to ensure our testing is on a par with the rest of the trade.
