Our family Corn Merchants business has been run from our offices in Metheringham since 1958 when Arthur Cox established it. Arthur & Florence had three sons, all of whom have been heavily involved in the business. Grandsons Robert and Matthew Cox are the 3rd generation.
We operate from Enderley House, 6 High Street, Metheringham, Lincolnshire.
Matthew is responsible for trading matters and Robert is responsible for logistics. Matthew and Paul Cox are fully qualified in Transport Management and hold current CPC's and HGV1 licenses so are able to turn their attention to any aspect of our operation. Paul, although out driving one of our DAF 95 articulated trucks, is able to keep a close eye on all aspects of our operation and is responsible for our HGV maintenence programe.
Gerald's responsibilities include trading standards and administration, quality control laboratory standards and all office administration. We operate a fully computerised accounting system. Accounts and general office responsibilities lie with Mrs Nikki Edwards.
Our laboratory is fully equipped to analyze all combinable crops and we have recently added the necessary equipment to enable us to determine mycotoxin levels in grain. We are members of two National Ring Testing Schemes, which enables us to ensure we are testing correctly and in line with the rest of the trade.
