A L Cox & Sons founded by Arthur Lawrence Cox in 1958, being joined by three sons and then two grandsons, Matthew Cox and Robert Cox.

Paul Cox, Matthew Cox and Robert Cox are Partners of A L Cox & Sons and also Directors of A L Cox & Sons Ltd which began trading in June 2013. All our Trading is carried out under our new Company and our Haulage continues to run under the Partnership A L Cox & Sons.

Matthew is responsible for Trading matters. Robert is in charge of Logistics whilst Paul handles the lorry maintenance and procurement.

Farm visits, sampling and testing are the tasks of Mick Henderson. Mick runs the samples through the analysers in our newly built laboratory based at High Street Metheringham.

Our laboratory is fully equipped to analyse all combinable crops. Tests included are for levels of mycotoxins in grain. We use two national ring test schemes which enables us to ensure our testing is on par with the rest of the trade.

Emma Cox manages the Accounts, Payroll and Admin.

Trading in combinable crops;

  • Cereals
  • Pulses
  • Oilseeds

We have a large supplier base from which to source our commodities. Being able to deliver to export facilities, flourmills, compounders, malsters, crushers and the bio fuel industry using our own haulage, managed by Robert,  gives us maximum control over our collection and delivery operation.

Having two operating centres for our transport at Metheringham and Martin Moor, we hold a full National Operators Licence which enables us to do haulage.

As members of the Trade Assurance Scheme for Combinable Crops (TASCC) and the Compliance of Renewal Energy Directives (RED) our current authorisation under the Code of Practice are as follows:
